Covid-19 and water sports
Situation point on Covid-19
At a particular time in history due to the emergenza Covid-19 , humans have rediscovered the importance of sports for the well-being of body and mind.
Many have taken the opportunity to be able to work remotely and have decided to invest time to practice or learn new sports and hobbies. In the past year Locals Crew has organized more kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, surfing and sup courses than in the previous year. In spite of the closures of the red zones, the result was a figure in contrast with the international economic and social trend.
CONI e Sport e Salute have classified sailing and surfing as a 0-1 risk sport on a scale of 0 to 5 (see link below). This is mainly due to the fact that they are individual sports and are practiced at sea and in the open air, favoring the dispersion of the virus and contagiousness.
In essence, practicing water sports is safe and even recommended if practiced safely and with the right behaviors. The safety protocols of FIV and FISW to which Locals Crew is affiliated contain the procedures to be implemented to continue to practice these spots safely.
The courses of Locals Crew in Salento are Covid Free, in addition to individual safety devices provide separate routes, sanitation of equipment, contact less payments and registration forms online. In addition, our courses are individual or group if belonging to the same family unit. The lessons take place with the use of radio to interact with students at a distance and means of assistance at sea to follow the lesson.
The covid has made us rediscover that sense of freedom that we lost after adolescence when we became adults, do not miss the opportunity to discover new emotions kite’n surf with us!
